HubzillaCalc Terms of Use

Last updated: 5 August 2026

These terms cover the HubzillaCalc calculator app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows, made by Jamie Hubball. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

Your licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use HubzillaCalc on the devices permitted by the store you bought it from. You may use it for anything you like, including commercially. Teaching, tutoring, and professional work are all fine, and no separate licence is needed for classroom use.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell or sublicense the app
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
  • Remove or alter any copyright or attribution in the app

Price

HubzillaCalc is free on every platform, with every feature available immediately. There is no trial, no unlock, no subscription and no in-app purchase. Nothing renews and you will never be charged.

We reserve the right to charge for future versions, but anything you have already installed stays yours to keep and keeps working.

If something is broken, email us and we will try to fix it.

Examinations and assessments

HubzillaCalc is a teaching and study tool. It is not an approved examination calculator, and no app running on a phone, tablet or computer is. It is your responsibility, and your school’s or examination board’s decision, to determine what equipment is permitted in any assessment. Do not rely on this app being allowed.

Accuracy

HubzillaCalc is built and tested carefully, and its behaviour is checked against the published behaviour of standard scientific calculators. Even so, all software contains mistakes. Please check any result that matters, for grades, for safety, or for money, before relying on it. If you find a result you believe is wrong, please report it; those reports are genuinely welcome and get fixed.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, if any. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Any claims relating to the app are our responsibility, not Apple's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Ending the licence

You can end this licence at any time by deleting the app. The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the date at the top of this page will change when they are. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
